My name is Kristin. I created this site to show everyone that clean living is simple and once you adapt a healthy lifestyle, losing weight and feeling great come naturally!
I've been going back and forth, from vegan to vegetarian for about 16 years now. I thought I was the healthiest person alive, since I refrained from eating animal products. Little did I know, I was destroying myself. I knew nothing about nutrition, vitamins, etc. I basically lived off of french fries, pizza, cheese subs, nachos and a TON of artificial meat to replace the protein I was missing out on. There was even a time, back when I was in high school, where I strictly lived off of bread and condiments. I was absolutely clueless about the nutrients I was missing out on.
In 2009, I began feeling fatigued, cloudy-headed and hopeless. I needed something new. I started reading numerous books on health and veganism and I signed up for nutrition school. It changed my life. I started experimenting in the kitchen, cooking things I never thought I'd cook. To be completely honest, about two years ago, I barely knew the difference between a cucumber and zucchini! Also, I nearly burned the house down a couple times, but I took it in as a learning experience! I'm working my way to becoming a better cook, one burnt meal (and chopped finger) at a time!
As I started to get more involved with cooking and experimenting, I was excited that I didn't have to rely on take-out, and that I was able to create even better meals in the comfort of my own home! I actually dislike eating out at restaurants now. I'd much rather cook! Not only that, but I felt my life turn around completely. I lost weight, my skin cleared up, my hair grew faster and felt healthier, I could focus better and I finally had the energy I needed for fitness and training for triathlons! Never did I think I'd be a triathlete!
I'm so grateful to be on this journey, and happy to learn something useful everyday of my existence. It brings me such pleasure to share my knowledge with anyone who's interested in learning.
I'm far from a chef. I teach myself everything about cooking. It's become such a passion of mine, that I daydream about meal ideas while I'm at work. All day! My main focus is to create recipes that are simple, yet nutrient-packed! I love simplicity and I love feeling healthy. If you're with me on this, you're headed in the right direction!
I received my training as a Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. During my training, I studied over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health. Drawing on these skills and my knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
Most approaches to nutrition dwell on calories, carbs, fats, proteins. Instead of creating lists of restrictions and good and bad foods, I coach my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial and discipline.
No one diet works for everyone. Even though I eat a mainly vegan diet, I know this isn't the lifestyle for everyone. As we work together, I will guide you to find the food and lifestyle choices that best support you. I will also help you to make gradual, lifelong changes that enable you to reach your health goals.
